Insert, move, or delete page breaks in a sheet. Excel 2016 for Mac. On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click Breaks, and then click Remove Page Break. Remove all manual page breaks. On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click Breaks. To remove a page break: Place your cellpointer in the row beneath a horizontal page break or in the column to the right of a vertical page break. Choose Insert, Remove Page Break from the Excel menu. The page break indicator will disappear and Excel will return to an automatic page break mode. I know how to insert a manual page break. My problem is that it doesn't seem to work. My spreadsheet is 77 rows long, and I want page two to begin with row 40. Here's what I do: 1) I highlight the entire active portion of the spreadsheet (i.e., the area with data that I want to print) 2) I click on FORMAT| PRINT RANGES| DEFINE 3) In FORMAT| PAGE| I turn off Headers & Footers 4) I select Row 40. ----> Row 40 has some vertically-merged cells (where rows 40 & 41 are merged for one or more columns). I have tried everything described here both leaving things as they are and after breaking up all merged cells between rows 40 & 41. Neither method works. 5) I click on INSERT| MANUAL BREAK| ROW BREAK Print Page Preview and File Page Preview both show there is no page break. Actually printing the document proves it. Install anaconda for mac continuum analytics. The spreadsheet ignores the manual break and does a page break when it runs out of printable space (i.e., row 58.) The only sign the page break is there is using Normal View, where I can see a blue line right where I want it to page break. I have tried deleting the page break through EDIT| DELETE MANUAL BREAK| ROW BREAK and i do lose the blue 'page break' line, but trying to put the manual break back in doesn't help the 2nd time (or the 5th ) I would appreciate any help from those who've had this problem. Insert page breaks into merged cells by doing what I did: 1) Got to the row you want to be the first row of a new page. 2) Go to each cell that has data or formatting in it and make sure that 'merge cells' is turned off 3) Click a cell in that row or the select the entire row. 4) Click INSERT| MANUAL BREAK| ROW BREAK 5) Go back to those cells you want merged and re-merge them. Note: Obviously you can't have merged cells that span pages (i.e., if Row 40 is the first row on the new page you can use my method to have cells on rows 40 & 41 merged, but not 39 & 40. I do wish that Open Office Calc was more consistent in how you make page breaks (and they should be called that, too). For example, you shouldn't have to go to the INSERT heading to add a page break but go to the EDIT heading to remove one. Thank you both for helping me out!
